    Yep,

At the moment I'm calling Melbourne home, and today's been fairly warm - much like NZ around January. Pretty weird cos it's not even October yet... I haven't had much R/C fun in a bit, though there's a great BMX track not too far from where I'm living that has been fixed up nicely since the last time I saw it while I was visiting here about 6 months/to a year ago. There's a large flat dirt patch, say 50 metres long that would be perfect to mark out a rough track and race about on and it's nice and dry cos y'know this is Australia and rain is like an unknown foreign liquid that might, if you're lucky, fall from above...hahaha. The track itself ain't too bad if you like big air (where's my Desert Gator when I need it??) but I'm not game enough to waste my Fox and Frog on the jumps. I'll probably organise some meet up with the Tamiya Club members I know around here and update my page with some pics soon. It's been such a long time without a good R/C bash.

    Take care :)

    Mike.

    A blog post.

    Yep,

Well it's been a while. What have I been up to? Not much, but I did buy & build the re re Hotshot 1 recently. Currently it's looking pretty on the shelf but until I sort an ESC and all that out I plan on making it another basher to join the fleet of my other bashers, lol. I actually bought the kit off Trade Me cheaper than I could buy it anywhere else (sorry Jun!) from a guy who was into Tamiya as a teenager who bought it during a stop over in Hong Kong but never got around to building it. I built up the car over a few days (and many beers) and it came out rather well. I'd say it's the only build I've been satisfied with, paintjob and everything. I used to have an original near new built Hotshot 1 but I sold it off to some Tamiya nut in England a couple of years back. I never ran that one, so I couldn't resist buying another!

Otherwise I've been doing a bit of travelling about NZ with my girlfriend and packing my sh*t up for a 6 month jaunt to Melbourne, Australia. Don't worry, I'm not giving up on NZ or anything, cos this is the best place on the planet I reckon, lol.

Oh yeah, if any New Plymouth members wanna meet up for a bash on the 30th of August lemme know. Mainly off road cars only :)

    Mike.
